Conference Minutes
The following minutes were recorded in 2010:
Motions of the UniQ Conference 2010:
Motion One:
“THAT the UniQ Conference establishes a National UniQ Working Group whose membership shall be composed of the following:
• One delegate from each properly constituted and recognised queer group from each University and ITP.
• One elected Queer, Welfare or other Representative from each student association.
• The elected National Queer Rights Officer, who will also Chair the Working Group.
AND THAT this Working Group will be tasked with the following:
• Consulting with various UniQ organisations at each University and ITP to establish what these groups and their members see the purpose of UniQ Aotearoa as being.
• Once consultation is completed, developing a constitution that sets out the structure for UniQ Aotearoa, its purpose and values, key goals and objectives.
The working group will prepare its findings in a report that will be presented to the UniQ Conference 2011.”

Motion two:
THAT the UniQ Conference endorses the NQRO to write a letter to CRUZ Christchurch regarding their violation of the “Host Responsibility Policy Guidelines” from the Christchurch City Council regarding the lack of free non-alcoholic beverages.
Moved from the Chair.
Passed unanimously.
Motion Three:
That the UniQ Conference recognises UniQ CPIT as the Queer Group on that Campus.

Motion withdrawn as discussed as already accomplished by represented delegate at conference, and included in working group – Motion One.
Motion Four:
THAT NZUSA recognise that the UniQ Conference 2010 has elected John Kingi as National Queer Rights Officer (NQRO).

Passed unanimously.
Motion Five:
THAT we authorise the NQRO to utilise the NZUSA budget line for UniQ Resources to attend the June/July NZUSA Conference 2010.
